Helle’s inspiration comes from a boat trip 10 years ago. At that time, she made a set of dogmas that made it possible to make ceramics on a rocking ship.

“My only tool on the boat was a cheese slicer and that is still what I use today to make long thin strips of the clay. Strips that I have developed in size and thickness exactly so they can carry themselves, no matter if the piece is 10 or 100 cm tall. All objects are unique, each with their own little twist and personality. The nobility and transparency of the porcelain, complimenting my lamps and light houses perfectly. Since then, I have curiously continued on this track and my work has developed further”.

The past 3 years, Helle has added stonewear to her collection and developed a silk matte glaze with lava, that gives her work their unique appearance.

Her work is both decorative and sculptural, but is made to be used and to last.
